Washington County Manufacturer's Association

HOW CAN WCMA BENEFIT YOUR COMPANY?

Networking, legislation, education and community service are what sets WCMA apart as an organization in Washington County. We invite company representatives from all aspects of manufacturing and manufacturing support to join us in our mission to advance manufacturing in Washington County.

WHAT WE DO

The ideas, knowledge and value added business information are not only benefits of joining the WCMA. The friendships developed with other members through our meetings, tours, networking, educational activities, projects and social functions can last a lifetime as well as foster further business relationships. We invite you to be a part of this dynamic organization. Never has there been a better time to join the Washington County Manufacturer’s Association.

Networking

  • The primary purpose of the WCMA is to provide a means of exchange of information between member organizations.

The principal means of accomplishing this is through nine uniquely focused monthly business programs available exclusively for and sponsored by participating member organizations. These monthly programs address subjects which are of mutual interest to all members. Attendance at these meetings also creates the opportunity to exchange information with other members. Past programs have included tours of local industrial sites and educational sessions on business, community employment, regulatory and legislative issues and computer training.

Legislation

  • The WCMA is partnered with the Pennsylvania Manufacturer’s Association, the leading voice for manufacturing in Pennsylvania.

Since its founding in 1909, PMA has advocated policies that promote economic growth. Today, the Association continues to provide the leadership to serve and advise manufacturers in Pennsylvania on matters relating to state government.  As the “watch dog” for the manufacturing sector, these respected professionals play a leadership role in crafting legislation designed to improve Pennsylvania’s competitive position.

Benchmarking

  • Periodically, the WCMA conducts surveys that mutually benefit the entire membership.

These surveys include wage, salary, work practice and fringe benefit studies. In addition, studies have been conducted on excess industrial space available at member sites.  This space has then been made available to other member organizations.  All survey information is then shared exclusively with the WCMA membership.
